Bumkins 3 Pack Bundle Cloth Diaper

These are one of the easiest to use cloth diapers. They close just like a disposable diaper so are easy for those new to cloth diapering or for babysitters. They offer a very trim fit compared to many other cloth diapers.

These are all-in-one diapers so they do not need a separate cover. I usually use fitted diapers and covers at home but like to keep a few all-in-ones (AIO) like these for quick changes on the go. They are also great for days when she doesn't want to hold still for a diaper change.

I just bought some more for my 8 month old girlshe is wearing a medium with still lots of room to grow. I also used Bumkins AIO with my older son. We used them almost exclusively once he was a toddler. I could even change him standing up.

I never tried them on newborn. I think separate fitteds and covers are usually better for containing runny newborn poop. I started using them both times about 6 months of age and never had any leakage problems. (my favorite newborn combo was Kissaluvs 0 fitted with an xs Thirsties cover)

I also don't use them at night because I prefer to use a thicker diaper.

Its easy to use a doubler with these if you need to add absorbancy. You can either just lay it inside or tuck it under the flap.

If they look stained an hour outside in the sun usually takes the stain right out.

I like having natural cotton against the babies skin. My son used to get rashes from diapers with fleece liners.

I don't think there is one perfect diaper for everybody. These get a lot of use here, but I still also love my fitteds and covers.

If money/budget was a concern my diapering choice would be a good quality prefold inside a Thirsties cover. (You can even just lay it inside the cover)

I got a good deal on a 6 pack of Bumkins All in One from another warehouse. They are not my favorite though we are using them on our twins. The outside is of course very cute, and it is also a good fabric. It's the inside that I have problems with.

The flannel is not very soft and the edges peak out the top and the sides and can leak. The flannel doesnt wick away moisture like pocket diapers ex: Fuzzi Bunz or Bumgenius. The sizing on these is similar to our FuzziBunz... but the wraps by Bumkins run quite small. I do like the wraps! And will keep these for variety.

I love this bundle option! The diapers work well and are very attractive. The bag that is included is great for when your out with baby. It closes tight and I have not had a problem with odor when using it (even in hot weather). The only difficulty I find with these diapers is at nightthe waistband of my son's pajamas ends up tucked into the top of the diaper and it gets wet. I have solved this problem by using rubber (vinyl) pants at night. Soakers/inserts help, but does not fix the problem. I have had no problems with leaks during naptime or during the day when he's awake. These are some of the best cloth diaper options out there.

After recently trying a cheaper brand, I realized how good Bumkins are! I have used the same covers for 2 children and they are still waterproof. I can't say that of their competitors. Also very easy to use.

We scored these all-in-ones in the sale section, and what a deal! They are great little diapers, and will be handy to have. We will be using cloth diapers and covers mostly, but having some AIOs will allow some flexibility. Very cute, not too girly, and the bag that comes with it will come in handy as well.

Playtex Diaper Genie Refill 270 count (pack of 3)

There are hundreds of reviewers who rightly complain about the price of these refills. I'm quick to join them. However, the Daiper Genie just flat-out works too well to retire so here's what we do to save money.

When the Genie gets full, I pull the bag out and use scissors to cut the bottom knot off and let all the dirty diapers fall into a trash bag or grocery bag, which I then tie up and toss in the outside garbage. I then simply retie the Genie Refill bag and use it again. It doubles (or triples) the life of the refills.

These refills are ok. The system works pretty well at reducing odors...but I just can't cope with the idea of continuing to spend $7-11+ for four bags (which is what we get from each one of these refills).

I decided to try buying kitchen-size trash bags with an odor-block feature. I put the kitchen bag down through the chute and tuck the top around the top of the area that you open to install an official refill. Then when the whole thing is full, instead of tearing the bag and knotting it to start a new one, I just take the old bag out and put a new bag in. Turns out it works fine. When the diaper genie is full it is the equivalent of 1/2 a kitchen trash bag! Since I bought the kitchen bags specifically for the diaper genie, I don't feel like I need to fill the other half of the bag to get my money's worth or something...but, just saying, each of the official refills basically holds less than two kitchen trash bags worth of diapers. For $7-11+.

So, with the official refill you're spending $1.75-2.75 per bag, and you have to do the awkward cut and tie with a full bag of diapers, but it looks a little prettier because no portion of the bag is exposed outside the system.

With Hefty 45 Count 13 Gallon Cinch Sak® Tall Kitchen Bags E86755 you're spending .17 per bag, and it is less awkward, but it is not as pretty because top of the bag shows outside the system.

I guess it just depends on what is important to you, but we'd much rather have the top of the bag show and get 10 times as many bags for the same price. This also means that we don't have to remember to buy bags often at all. We just bought a box of 45 bags and it's lasting quite a while.

I still feel like these things are very overpriced for what amounts to a long tube of plastic bag, but there really is no other choice if you want to continue using a diaper genie. I tried the trick that others mentioned of using a standard garbage bag wrapped around an empty diaper genie dispenser, and that worked, but it filled up pretty fast and the garbage bag did absolutely nothing to control odors so we ended up with a very stinky nursery. So, now we are back to the Playtex brand refills and paying what feels like too much for them.

They do the job, but are a little costly. Better to buy in multiple packs instead of individually becuase it saves you money.

It's no coincidence that these have a giant hole in the middle, since at the end of the day that's what they are a giant hole to stuff your money into. They run out very quickly, the plastic is super thin and tears easily, and they do absolutely NOTHING to control the odor.

Here's a better solution, for those of you looking:

I bought the "Odor Grabber" (http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Trend-Grabber-Refill-White/dp/B004FEP0GQ/ref=pd_cp_ba_0) from Walmart and then used the included adapter ring to use regular garbage bags. Not only do regular bags not fill up as quickly, but having a built in drawstring on the bags was a HUGE bonus no more struggling to tie off the refills.

Huggies Snug and Dry Diapers Economy Plus, Size 3, 222 Count

I will start by saying that I used these when my girls were in size 1, and hated them. I had a lot of leaking issues.

I bought a pack of size 3 because it cost less than our usual Earth's Best and I was dreading the leaks. I used them one night (my girls sleep a good 9 hours in the same diaper) and was instantly converted. They amaze me now!!! I've only had leaks after a long sleep stretch when the diaper is full of pee and someone does a rare early morning poop, and an occasional super watery poop. These leaks are very rare. I've never had a problem with pee or poop coming out the top/back of these. With twins I've tried a lot of different diapers and I believe these will be the kind that I stay with from now on.

This diaper can take my 11 month old's pee all night without a single change. In the morning, the diaper's about the size of a football and weighs about a large grape fruit. My wife and I have a good laugh chucking it at each other.

I used Huggies exclusively with my first baby a few years ago and was quite happy. This time with my second I chose it again without much thought, but I'm so disappointed. I've encountered so many instances of the tiny round particles leaking out from the diapers. I don't know if it's due to quality deterioration over the years or just bad luck. I wouldn't want to use it anymore.

I wish they never changed it. I have two kids and I used Snug and Dry with both up until huggies ruined it. I used to purchase the 140 count pack in size 3 which was great because I did not use to get leaks or anything major. But the new version is a nightmare. I had to throw out several diapers because the tabs kept coming off when pulled. The diapers would leak during or seconds after they get wet or dirty.. At first I thought since the huggies brand runs a little smaller, maybe the diapers were getting too small already. So I went up a size. It did not make any difference because the diapers were just horrible. Imagine having to clean poop off of a carpet. If my son does his business while in the car seat or siting down, his back and both legs are in trouble. It seems like all the brands are changing the diapers for the worse. I started buying huggies because pampers added that dry max stuff to their diapers and my oldest had very sensitive skin. Their sensitive diaper brand is fine until a few minutes later when it starts releasing a nasty smell. I'm currently using "little movers" and sometimes "pure and natural". Although, little movers got changed too but it still serves its purpose. I would NOT recommend this product.
