Kokopax Samantha Diaper Tote

Kokopax Samantha Diaper Tote, PaxIt's not often I feel compelled to write a review but I love this bag so much and felt the need to share. I've been looking for a great diaper bag for a while now. One that would not only be functional for baby but would also be professional enough to bring to work everyday. I hate constantly going from one bag to another I'm always bound to forget something.

This bag has three large pockets, one zipper pocket and endless amounts of space in the actual bag itself. The material is great quality and the leather accents make it a nice choice for work as well. The only drawback is the leather means this bag cannot go in the wash. However, this bag has flown with me internationally and on multiple trips and cleans up well when spot treated. I also really love that the straps are thicker than other bags I've had and the leather gives it a little extra support on my shoulder. Despite loading it up with all my stuff, I never get that "digging into my shoulder" pain.

What has my cheap self learned during my search for the "perfect" diaper bag? You get what you pay for. You will not regret getting this bag.

I'd been on the search for a stylish and cute diaper bag that didn't LOOK like a diaper bag, for a long time when I came across this one on Amazon. I love it. It's big purse, with 3 inside pockets (great for diapers, pacis, etc.) and one inside zip pocket. The main compartment is huge, and hold a lot. I love that I can carry this around with me and not feel like I look like I'm toting diapers and baby stuff everywhere I go.

My only complaint would be that since there's leather on the bag, I'm assuming you can't put it in the washer, although the rest of the bag is fabric. Dry clean maybe? I've had it fora bout 6 months, and so far I've only had to spot-wash a small spot on it, which came out fine with a little bit of detergent on a sponge.

I would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a cute diaper bag!

Playtex Ortho-Pro Teether 10m+ (2 Packs of 2)

Playtex Ortho-Pro Teether 10m+My son wasn't really pleased with this pacifier. It was good just to have him chew on for awhile but he liked other pacifiers better. I bought a two pack thinking he would love it but he didn't. Hope my next kid loves it!

Pampers Swaddlers Diapers

Pampers Swaddlers Diapers Size N Giant Pack 128 CountCustomer review from the Amazon Vine Program

I loved Pampers Swaddlers when my daughter was a younger infant, but when she started crawling, I dutifully switched to cruisers halfway through her stint in size 3 because I felt like I was "supposed to" now that she was actively moving.

Overall I've been happy with cruisers. She was in Cruisers size 3 and then size 4 during the day, and Huggies Overnight at night (she was soaking her cruisers at night, and Huggies Overnights are definitely the best!)

I've had the chance to compare the Swaddlers to the Cruisers in size 4, and I can see the differences when I look at the diaper itself. The Swaddlers are more padded (thicker), whereas the Cruisers have a strong elastic. And of course the Swaddlers have that yellow/blue stripe to tell you when the diaper is wet. Personally I don't really need that stripe at my daughter's current size. The days of teaspoon-sized pees in stationary babies asleep in a crib are long gone, and if she's wet, I kinda know.

Swaddlers: Thicker, Yellow Stripe

Cruisers: Thinner, more elastic

Both: Perfect for my long & lean 13 month old no leaks (21 lbs ... I move up diaper sizes early)

Neither: Neither is great for overnight for a toddler who actively soaks a diapers. But that's why there are overnight diapers!

Overall I can't say I have a preference between the two. If you love swaddlers and/or really want the stripe, then stick with swaddlers and don't worry that you should move to cruisers because your baby is crawling/walking. If you use cruisers and are happy, don't let the fact that you can get swaddlers in size 4 make you question which is better. In my opinion there really isn't much of a difference. The Swaddlers are just as good for my very active 13 month old. Choose your diaper on price or on the cartoon character on the front or whatever you care about. I really don't think there is functionally much of a difference between Swaddlers and Cruisers.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program These Swaddlers size 4 (with copyright 2013 on the box) have the internal netting found on Swaddlers size 1-3 that's good for newborn poops. We've used Swaddlers pretty much since birth, and the closest our now 22-month, 26-pound daughter has come to diaper rash is a little pink on the skin --never red.

Last year, copyright-2012 Swaddlers became available in sizes 4 and 5 but without the netting, and to me, they were just like Cruisers plus the visual wetness indicator stripe; and possible some additional capacity. I felt the Cruisers could hold about two-and-a-half pees; and Swaddlers could take at least three pees. We use Cruisers during the day and Swaddlers at night.

I think these copyright-2013 Swaddlers have the same liquid capacity as the 2012 Swaddlers, and I thought the netting came in helpful during a case of diarrhea last week. The netting seems to help move liquid poop a little farther from the skin.

These are the diapers that we will take when we go traveling.

Reliability-cost estimation:

For size-4 diapers, Amazon offers a range of unit prices from Pampers Baby Dry at $0.17 per diaper to Seventh Generation at $0.40 per diaper. These Swaddlers are nominally 0.33 per diaper. I want to estimate the real cost of diapers when accounting for the leak or user error rate.

Suppose each leak or user error rate ruins one set of clothing, and you can wash 15 sets of baby clothing at once. Then each leak event has an average cost of 1/15 of the time and money spent on one load of laundry. (For me, that's about 1 hour and $3; so each leak costs me 4 minutes plus $0.20.)

I'd estimate the rate of leakage or user error of these Pampers Swaddlers to be about 1 per 300 diapers = 0.003. (By contrast, the Huggies we got from the hospital had an error rate of 2 per 30 = 0.06. I concede I was less experienced in diapering then, so my error rate might be lower now.)

Then the real cost of Pampers Swaddlers is the nominal cost + error rate * (cost of an error) = 0.33 + 0.3% * (4 minutes plus $0.20). If I value my time at $15 per hour, then that adds up to about 0.3336 per diaper.

On the other hand, the real cost of the Huggies, using the same formula, is: (base cost of Huggies) + 6% * (4 minutes plus $0.20), which adds up to (base cost) plus $0.07. I'd say a $0.07 margin erases a big part of the price advantage.

The calculation changes if your time is worth more or less, which will make you more or less demanding of well-fitting well-designed diapers.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program These diapers for the newborn in your life does the job. The diapers may seem thin, but they actually stop any spills or leakage in other ways. The newborn in my life who wore these didn't have any complaints and the diaper feels soft and is easy to use. Well worth the money and again proves Pampers is the go-to in diaper products.

I did a lot of shopping around because I really like these diapers and think the yellow to blue line is a great idea. I do think I change my daughters diaper more because as soon as I see the blue line I change her diaper but that is not why I'm giving a bad review, the diaper company went and "changed" the package and the diaper count went from 204 to 186 and in most cases the price stayed the same but as for amazon the price increased for less diapers. I'm extremely disappointed in this change and hopes that the company rectifies the situation.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program With our first child we shopped diapers and dealt with a lot of failure before settling on Pampers. These are simply worth the money. They fit, they don't leak and Pampers quality control is amazing, we've been through amazing numbers of diapers over the past five years and really feel they are second to none. We are now on number three and still going strong on Pampers!

Fisher-Price Luv U Zoo Crib 'N Go Projector Soother

Fisher-Price Luv U Zoo Crib 'N Go Projector SootherI bought this for my son when he was 5 months old. He is now 7 months and still loves it! This item has a few options. First the yellow bird lights up as a night light for a minute or two when you press the button. It has the on/off switch and low/high volume. It either plays piano lullabies or nature sounds. You can play these by themselves for about 20 minutes or with the slide show for about 10 minutes. There is an easy access play button so if it shuts off and you want to turn it back on again you just press the play button. I have the same batteries in it that I put in it when I bought it and I've used it multiple time through the night every night for the last 2 months. The slide show is a bit lacking... it is the same two slides over and over, but at this age I don't think they notice(at least my boy doesn't seem to care). You can detach projector to take anywhere and there is a mirror behind it for playtime in the crib.

Pros:

Lots of music/sound options

You can use the projector or just sound

Easy on batteries

Nightlight

Portable

Crib mirror

Cons:

Same 2 slides over and over

This has helped my baby fall asleep, and stay asleep if he starts fussing a bit in the middle of the night for 2 months. He enjoys it and so do I. I would recommend this soother!

I hesitated buying this because there were only a few reviews and I wasn't sure if this would project onto our high ceilings. In the pictures it looks like the ceiling is maybe two feet above the crib, and we have 10ft ceilings, so I was very hesitant. I'm so glad I went ahead and took a chance because this is simply awesome! It projects beautifully on our ceilings. It is HUGE. I projected it in our living room first and was afraid because it was too big that the ceiling fan in my son's room would get in the way, but it doesn't! It's great! The picture is beautiful. I love the music. It's soft and wonderful. I can't say enough about it. It's so much better than I expected.

My son had a very hard time transitioning from my bed to his own crib in his own room. And, many mobiles didn't fit our crib-plus, mobiles damage the wood when installing and removing. This projector changed everything! He loves to watch the ceiling projections as he falls asleep and the music is soothing (3 music options and 2 volume levels). It does turn off after a short amount of time, but we have a sound machine as back-up (white noise). The fact that there are only two images projected don't seem to affect my baby at all (he's 6 months old now)-he's still fascinated by the images. I love how this is also easily transportable for travel. And, it fits all cribs or you can even place it on a dresser or the floor. Easily removable without any kind of potential damage to cribs. Just make sure the room is dark when using the projection. You can always play the music without projection too. GREAT PRODUCT. Save your sanity now and just buy it.

UPDATE: My son is now 14 months; we bought this when he was 3 months old. It is still a hit with our son. I have seen him through the monitor turning on this projector by himself in the morning and middle of the night, then lying back down to watch the ceiling projections. He sooths himself back to sleep or at least stays entertained for another 30-60 minutes in the morning. We love this product!! And we have NOT had to replace batteries yet. Almost a year!! Buy this product!

I bought this soother out of desperation for my 6 month old who wakes up every hour or two at night. While it does not, of course, prevent said constant waking, it does help soothe him back to sleep sometimes when he's not waking up hungry. And occasionally I can put him down for a nap, fussy and awake but sleepy, and turn this thing on and ten minutes later he's out without further intervention from me. Of note, we do not have one of those musical moving mobiles, I don't know that this thing necessarily works better than those do.

Pros:

1) The music is surprisingly not-annoying for a plastic baby toy (which as a group have a pretty bad track record for this in my book).

2) I like the options of nature sounds vs music, and that you can opt not to turn on the light show (although we always do because it gets his attention and distracts him).

3) The 2 volume settings are good I was afraid it would be too loud on the quietest setting but it's just about right.

Cons:

1) I wish there was some kind of length-of-time setting. Sometimes 10 minutes isn't quite enough and in order for me to push the button to restart it without him seeing me I have to perform a ridiculous feat of stealth that involves crawling around the crib in the semi-dark without making any noise.

2) I also wish it gave the option to run the light show without music. I feel that it would be less stimulating this way and maybe put him to sleep more often when he just needs a little extra push in that direction. Maybe not, but now I can't find out.

Not a con:

Yes, it only has two slides as pointed out by other reviewers, but let's face it, it's for babies. I don't think they care. My baby can stare at his own fist for ten minutes.

In summary, worth the money. It soothes baby and does not annoy me so we all win.

This music projector is great for so many reasons. One thing it has that none if the others I've researched for our 2nd thats on the way have is a little night light to help you check the baby. We've been using this with my now 18-month-old since he was just a month old & he still loves it. Now, he can stand up & push the button himself if he wakes up at night & it relaxes him to hear the familiar music & to have a soft light from the projector. I like it because there is a very dim little night night in the bird that you can turn on to check the baby without disturbing (& it even shuts off automatically after about 15 seconds or so). Also, since it clips out of its crib attachment base, we can easily carry it to Nana'a house or any time we travel to keep our bedtime routine. I play the music the entire time we do our story, diaper change, & PJs routine & have done so since he was tiny. Now, he relaxes immediately when he hears the music and sees the projection. Coupled with a night light behind our rocker, the projector is enough to read a story by without being too bright to keep him up after I put him in bed. It's held up GREAT to HOURS of playing & the batteries last for a long time. I think we will order a second one so he can keep his when he transitions to his toddler room & his new little sister can have one too. Don't go for a more expensive version-trust me, this one has GREAT features that the others don't at a way better price & lasts.

Huggies Natural Care Baby Wipes, Fragrance Free, 216ct

Huggies Natural Care Baby Wipes, Fragrance-Free, Refill, 216-Count Pack. 648 total wipesThe description isn't entirely clear but you get three 216-ct packages for the price listed (so 648 wipes total). If you're able to take advantage of the super-saver shipping, you end up paying just a smidge over 3 cents per wipe, which is about what I was paying for some store-brand wipes...except I don't have to worry about needing to use 3 or 4 wimpy wipes to do the job of 1 or 2 Huggies wipes, nor do I need to leave the house to get these. :)

After 5 straight years of changing diapers, I still prefer the Huggies wipes above all others, so I'm glad I can find them at a decent price here at Amazon.

Notice that the Aloe and Vitamin E are the LAST ingredients, so the product contains a very small amount of the only natural things on the list!

Since I use 10-15 wipes a day, not sure I want to wipe my baby's bum with Parabens.

Although I tend to buy Pampers brand diapers for my 14-month old girl, I have always strongly preferred Huggies brand wipes because they are thick, strong, and not too wet. I have been buying these Natural Care Fragrance Free wipes since the beginning through amazon's subscribe and save feature, and this WAS a 5 star product. But, no longer. After receiving the latest shipment this week it is clear that the product has changed. The wipes are much thinner, to the point that they are not effective. We had to go through 5-6 wipes just for 1 diaper. I'm very disappointed and will be canceling my subscription. *Incidentally, amazon is listing the date of this review as July, 2009, which was when I started the subscription. However, the review is actually being posted August, 2010.*

We have been receiving these wipes for over a year through Subscribe and Save. Our entire family uses these wipes including my husband, myself, our three and a half year old daughter and our sixteen month old son. With this last shipment, the quality of the wipes have significantly changed. The wipes used to be thick and soft and cleaned very well. They are now much thinner and rougher with an almost sandpaper-like quality to them. I have to use twice as many to do the job. Within only a couple days of using them, our son developed an awful bleeding rash on his bottom and face from the wipes. Nothing else is different in his diet or the products we are using, besides these wipes. I will be canceling our subscription due to this change.

I love Huggies pure & natural diapers and use them exclusively for my daughter so, when all the wipes I received as gifts at my shower ran out I purchased these thinking I'd like them too... big mistake! Although the container is my favorite so far (the pop up feature actually works) my daughter got diaper rash within a few changes while using these. As soon as I stopped using them the rash started to subside, although it took over a week to clear completely. It broke my heart and I definitely cannot recommend these.
