My daughter had twins in January and she was having a hard time finding preemie diapers. These diapers are great and when I ordered them through Amazon, my daughter had them within a few days.Suddenly, on September 17, 2011, our little boy unexpectedly was born at 27 weeks--all 1 lb 14 oz of him. He was so tiny, the NICU premie diapers swam on him. We were worried. How do we care for such a tiny and vulnerable human being? He was in the NICU for two-and-a-half months before we took him home the day before Thanksgiving. His first full day home was Thanksgiving Day. Wow... It's the most memorable and happy Thanksgiving of our lives!
Before we got him home, we purchased from Amazon the same diapers the NICU uses for these babies. First we signed up for Amazon's Subscribe and Save program, which we highly recommend you do also, and then we purchased the premie size Swaddlers diapers. They were perfect! Some friends of ours were using cloth diapers and we debated using them too, but looking at Amazon's price on these diapers and seeing how simple it is to care for a baby's changing needs using disposables, it was a no brainer. These diapers cost us about $25 to $30 a month. Amazon's subscription program is really the right way to go.
Our baby is now 20 months old and has graduated to Pampers Baby Dry size 4. If we have another child, we're definitely, without question, using Swaddlers. They are an excellent diaper and helped keep our precious little one sanitary and clean during the first year of his life.
One other tip: make sure to collect the rewards points on every pack of Pampers diapers and wipes. You can redeem them for things on Pampers' website.
