This mattress is great. Fits a Davinci Kalani crib perfectly. The baby side is firm while the toddler side is a little softer. I would recommend this to anyone who is on the look for a firm coiled crib mattress.

I had a Simmons mattress for my first child that we liked and she slept well on, but 13 months later, that particular mattress wasn't available. So, we got this one for our second childsame brand, same number of coils. However by the time she was 4 weeks old there was an indention in the middle of the mattress where she typically laid. She was born average weight 7 lbs, 6 oz.. Other than that, the mattress has been fine. I had read really good reviews about this mattress, and thought it was a good idea to splash out on a really good one for OUR little one.Well im sorry but this mattress just seems cheap. When i lie my newborn down on it (she weighed 6lbs 4oz) air puffed up the mattress on the opposite side, and took quite a while to go down.
It was also very hard.
We had to turn it round to the toddler side, which made no difference really. I wanted a firm mattress, but this feels like a plank of wood. I then bought lots of cosy sheets for the underneath and a nice plush sheet for on top, but it still really doesnt make any difference.
I feel like i wasted my money.

This Simmons Kids Beautyrest works just like magic. Our daughter seems to love it and sleeps well on it.I think this is a good mattress for the price and don't think a $300 mattress will do any different than this.
when we received the mattress and opened the packaging, it didn't have an odd smell like many mattress does. It's bang for the bucks and very well constructed mattress.
