Thirsties Diaper Cover

Thirsties Diaper Cover, Aqua, X-SmallThese things are great! Currently using them on baby #2. I've never had a blow out with them or any leaks. But they do SEEP, and if you're not careful, the can soak EVERYTHING on or near baby.

SEEPAGE: The inside of the diaper is waterproof awesome. But the nice white edging on the diaper is all cloth. As such, it's very soft on baby's skin, but it is also very absorbent. So if moisture from a wet pre-fold diaper seeps onto the edging, it soaks the edging and then the edging soaks baby's clothes and everything baby has on. And this happens often because of the silly little sizing tag that hangs down in the back of the diaper. The tag will get wet, then the wet seeps onto the edging, then the wet edging seeps onto clothes, blankets, etc. Ugh.

The solution is simple just cut the tags out. Or it would have been easier for Thirsties to make them with printed in tags so you don't have to guess as to the size when you cut the tags out.

Otherwise:

FIT: great! They fit pre-folds lovely. Very adjustable. I've never seen a blow out.

CLEAN UP: Urine is no problem. I find that nearly every poo requires me to change the cover also and wash it, but the poo stays in the cover and does not leak. Since the covers are cheap, I bought 6 of each size I need. (I do about a load of whites a day, so a few are always being cleaned.)

WASHABILITY: GREAT! these things have gone through the washer so many times and still look fine. they haven't stained for me.

COMFORT: no diaper rash and counting. and baby doesn't have wrinkles on her butt like she gets from disposables

HASSLE: for a cloth diaper, minimal. pre-folds (Well, at least the ones I use) don't "wick" away moisture, so I never leave her in them for long, so I change her diapers more often with the cloth. I choose not travel with these or leave them for sitters, because I feel cloth diapering requires buy-in from the people who are doing the diapering. But as I'm with baby most of the time, I use these almost always. Dad doesn't mind them either.

ECONOMY: great! they hold up, last for a long time with adjustability, and were cheap for a very nice product

LOOKS: they do give baby a big butt, but seriously, it's not like baby has a really svelte figure anyhow. they do require me to dress her a size bigger for a good fit, though.

OVERALL: nice! just fix that stupid tag in the back thing and these would be perfect (but again, you can just cut them out)

****************

**UPDATE**: The 1st "baby" is now toilet training and the 2nd baby is in hand-me-down Thirsties+cloth diapers. We have gone through 4 different sizes of Thirsties diaper covers now for both kids. I liked Thirsties well enough that we never switched to another brand, which says a lot. A few notes:

*WASHABILITY: These still wash up great. The Velcro holds up wash after wash, even though I wash the covers with the cloth diaper inserts on the most intense hot-water setting there is to kill germs. It is best to "tuck" the velcro against the tabs provided, to avoid tangling of the diapers in the dyer. Otherwise, the velcro tabs stick to one another. No fading at all to the color, which is amazing.

* DURABILITY: All that washing and still they're fine. Out of the 30-some covers I have, 1 had velcro tabs that were not well-sewn on and started to tear free of the stitching upon first washing. But for 1 out of 30, I'm going to take it that it was a fluke. A few of the Velcro tabs are starting to get a little soft and bendy, but they still hold tight.

* LEAKS: Still no leaks or blowouts. Put these on snug in the proper size and they hold the inserts in place and poos and pees stay in the diaper. My 2nd baby is the blow-out QUEEN. Seriously, every morning she blows out of any disposable you put on her: Pampers, Huggies, brand X, you name it, she'll get poo all up her back, stain her clothes and get poo in her hair. Nasty. The ONLY diapers she won't blow out of are Thirsties covers. They're a disgusting mess inside after her morning poo, but if it stays in the diaper cover, the clean-up isn't so bad.

* STAINING: I said previously these don't stain. That is not entirely true. The slick inside of the diapers don't stain. The cloth can, especially the white edging around the legs where poop sometimes gets trapped (that's the price you pay for no blowouts). Many of my diapers now have a yellowish or brownish tinge to the edging that no amount of washing will entirely bleach. Oh well. The kiddo wears clothes over them so no one sees.

* SEEPING: Seeping DOES occur. I still find that if the diaper insert soaks, moisture can seep onto the edging and then seep onto clothes. As a newborn to 6 months, this moisture crept up the back tab and onto the back edging. More recently, the seeping happens around the leg openings. It's a function of a) how your baby is lying, sitting, or standing and b) how quickly you change the diapers. But I have found you need to change cloth diapers quickly when they're wet. Thirsties covers don't leak, but if you don't change them in a timely fashion, you will get seepage.

* COMFORT: Cloth diapers give my sensitive skinned babies much less diaper rash than disposables. A lot of it comes from the fact that we notice and change out soiled diapers more quickly with cloth. Thirsties edging is comfy and does not pinch too badly.

I do notice, however, that my 2nd child gets some redness around her legs from the edging rubbing on her skin. This is probably because she's built like the Michelin man. She's a very fat baby. It doesn't seem to hurt her, and it isn't forming a rash, but it does concern me such that I change her frequently to make sure it's just the diaper edging pressing against her skin and not a dampness-related rashing. I think I'll need to get her a bigger size here, soon. She's growing like crazy.

*SIZING/Vs. SNAP COVERS: All kids are shaped differently, so I can't speak to all body types. My kids fit Thirsties really well, however, much better than the few Bummis I borrowed from sis-in-law. I also have a few of the Thirsties covers (duo?) that require snapping, but I didn't like them. The plastic buttons ended up pressing against my kiddos chubby thighs and leaving marks. Regular Thirsties are all cloth, so very gentle. Also my kids are kind of tank-children (that is, big, fat babies), so these fit them well. My only problem is that baby #2 is SO big she's nearly too big for the Large size (at only 4mo.!) I truly wish these came in toddler sizes like an XL.

*TODDLER/POTTY TRAINING USE: These things can be extended into the toddler years by being put over cloth training pants or cloth panties at naptime and bedtime for an extra layer of protection when kids are still not staying dry all night. I learned this trick from the sis-in-law, and it's a nice way to get more use out of these and keep the bed dry, but still let your potty-training kid enjoy 'big kid underwear.'

* GREAT PRICE, GREAT INVESTMENT: I always found I needed a few more Thirsties covers than I thought I would, and at $10ish a pop, they're a great deal. I have invested in some $800 worth of cloth diapering supplies that has seen me through 2 kids now. That was about 3 dozen pre-fold inserts in four different sizes and about 10 covers for each size. I easily saved that much on disposables in half a year, much less 2 kids worth of supplies. Plus, if we decide to have more kids, we save even MORE. And it's better on the environment.

Thirsties hold up to the use and abuse, so they really are worth the investment.

* A note on what goes inside the Thirsties: I never found diaper inserts that I liked on Amazon. I found pre-fold diapers of old school kind on a site called greenmountaindiapers.com. I mention it because I kept going back there. It's a very wacky-looking site (sorry, the design is just bizarre), but their pre-fold diapers are fantastic. You fold them into thirds, slip them into the Thirsties cover, and just pull them back out when soiled. Follow the care instructions that come with the pre-folds, for sure, but those diapers made excellent inserts for these covers.

Happy Cloth Diapering!

When my husband and I decided to cloth diaper our son, we first invested in one of each of the most popular kinds of cloth diapers, including both prefolds and pocket systems. For wraps we tried the Bummis super whisper wrap and the thirsties. The Thirsties are by far and away better.

1. They fit his body better because the waist can accommodate the typical baby budda belly more comfortably.

2. The cut of the legs fits his legs better, whereas the Bummis always gaps.

3. The fabric of the Thirsties is more flexible. By comparison, the Bummis feels cheap and stiff.

4. The gusset at the leg of the Thirsties prevents leaks and also better distributes the tightness of the elastic better so it doesn't cut into my baby's skin.

When using them with the prefolds, you have to make certain that the wrap completely encloses the prefold diaper around the leg. If it doesn't, you can get leaks. But if you fit them correctly and make sure the cotton prefold is entirely tucked inside, they are perfect!

I was impressed with this cover. I bought several different brands before my daughter was born and this was one of my favorites. My daughter was tall and slender and it fit around her legs better than others. For a chubbier baby, it might not have been such a good match.

I'm a cloth diapering newbie, and I did a LOT of research before my son was born. I knew I wanted to go the cheaper route by using prefolds and covers, so I looked at reviews of all the diaper covers before deciding to try this one. I LOVE IT! The gussets on the sides contain everything, which is more than I can say for Huggies and Pampers disposables. We've had several blow-outs and urine leakage from the disposables we've used, but nary a problem with this diaper cover. I disagree with another reviewer who said that the cloth edging wicks moisture to the outside. The cloth is polyester, which doesn't wick like cotton does. The moisture sits on top of it, true, but it doesn't wick to the outside unless the prefold is sticking out somewhere.

For the price, these covers are VERY well made. I was impressed. Since they don't have cotton fabric on the inside, they don't have to be washed after every usage. I just have two and rotate them every other change. If anything gets on them, I just wipe them down and air dry. By the next diaper change, the other has dried and is ready to go. Very economical!

...And Thirsties is the best! We have been using Thirsties Diaper Covers for over 18 months now & LOVE them. We have tried several other brands, but always come back to Thirsties for one reason or another. These covers are so pliable...they definitely are the most comfortable for our baby and allow him to move about. Other wraps are stiff and bulky and don't seem very giving on our active baby. The gussets are a musthave and really work well to contain messes. I use Thirsties Covers in combination with their fitted diapers and we very rarely spring a leak. LOVE all the colors, too!

I have always been pleased with the way Pampers fit and contain leaks (with the exception of dry max issues), but these diapers are a disappointment. They lack the stretchy tabs that extend on the front which make it easy to customize the fit. I've used every type of Pampers between my infant and 2.5 year old and these are the only type without the tabs. I'm not sure why Pampers decided to make them this way. They are such a hassle to adjust correctly, I've only used about 5 of the diapers and will be donating the rest.

She purchased another brand-the "container" drives me bananas, makes a HUGE mess-so I asked her "why didn't she purchase Cashmere powder anymore?" I have used this product since childhood. My mother used is forever. I am now 72 yrs old and still loving it.

HALO SleepSack SwaddleChange Diaper Pad Covers

HALO SleepSack SwaddleChange Diaper Pad Covers, Cream, NewbornI tried out the SwaddleChange on a 3 month old, 8 month old, and 10 month old. It worked well on all except my 10 month old. He was able to wiggle his arms out right away. So I would recommend this product for 9 months and under but it really depends on your baby's personality. My 8 month old nephew is so mellow that this would work forever with him. :) This would make a great gift for a new or expectant mom. The material is VERY soft and I wish I would have had this when our son was a newborn. The only reason I gave this 4 starts instead of 5 is because the straps for the belt thread through the side of the changing pad cover. Our straps are located in the middle. So once you thread them down the side, through the holes, and back up, there is very little room left to buckle baby in. I don't know if all changing pads are made this way or just ours. Something to look for when purchasing your changing pad.

*I received a SwaddleChange free of charge but all opinions expressed are solely and honestly mine.

I bought this because my eight month old has recently started trying to escape during diaper changes. I just needed something to keep him flipping and crawling away. Well, these do that but they just aren't worth it. The fabric is sewn on in such a way it's near impossible to get his onesie out of the way and the new diaper up high enough. I can't fathom how you would have room to change an even smaller baby. Speaking of the fabricit's horrible. It's soooo cheap and thin. I have two other covers (Pottery Barn and Boppy brand) and they are a million times nicer. I should mention that despite his age my son still loves to be swaddled, I had him wrapped this afternoon. But he really isn't having it in this thing. The first time I used it he was in love, now it's like an added challenge and he tries even harder to escape. If the fabric were at least halfway decent I'd consider keeping it, but it just isn't worth it it's really that bad.

Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Size 1, 258 Count

Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Size 1, 258 CountI used Pampers 1 size before I used this brand size 1. I want to try something new, but the result is very disappointing. Pampers size 1 is way much better than Huggies size 1. I bought 258 package, and there are still over 200 unused. Don't know how to deal with these. I don't want to wash my baby clothes three times a day.

Overall good diapers...absorbtion is good and tabs dont tear easily. But the size does seem to run small. My baby is average sized and these are narrow (meaning they cut in close to her bottom between her legs) and they seem short, meaning it's easy for poopies to sneak up the back. I would buy these again but would go with the larger size.

I have twin girls and made the mistake in buying these. We couldn't wait for the box to be empty. The girls always needed out fit changes due to the diaper leaking through the layers. One expects some leaking around the edges but right through the diaper. I will never buy again.

Nuby BPA FREE Infant Feeder Feeding Bottle Set, Color May Vary

Nuby BPA FREE Infant Feeder Feeding Bottle Set, Color May VaryI bought this at Walmart thinking what a great thing but really it was a hassle. you keep having to shove your finger up the back to push the food out and the way the little plunger part is you end up leaving food all stuck inside. The only thing I liked about it is that I took the little handle part off and noticed it fit all regular bottles so now I can use as kind of a training item. I recommend the Boon squirt. Way more convenient, no food wasted and costs the same at your local Target. The boon is a must have

Forget trying to clean this thing. The spoon and the bottles are impossible to clean. Also, forget putting stage 1 foods in these as it drips out the bottom!

i have a daughter who was born with a cleft lip and palate.. she has had her operations but she has no concept of how to latch onto a regular nipple and she can not suckle... this bottle gives her a long nipple to work with and the gum stimulater at the base of the nipple gives her something to latch to.. the bottle's push bottom allows me to push the formula to her when she no longer can or "forgets" for a moment.... this bottle does leak a little from the bottom, but thats the nature of the beast... i don't mind cause it allows me to teach my daughter how to eventually drink from a real bottle and then a sippy.. it comes with a sippy bottle to and it also has the push bottom!! i love this bottle.. it has also cut done on her colic, she takes in less air...

Babymel Ruby Rucksak Diaper Bag

Babymel Ruby Rucksak Diaper Bag, MochaI love love love this bag. Isn't ridiculous with the pockets (i get disorganized with too many pockets. I start shoving things in randomly and then can't find anything. I'm much better at making a system with a smaller number of pockets) there are four internal gathered pockets and two external zip pockets. The external zip pockets are great for slipping in your cell phone or baby's pacifier or other small items you want on hand. There's also one more internal zip pocket, which I might starry using for her change of clothes, but we'll see.

Exterior is nice looking and subtle. As much as I admire some of the whimsical and fun picklebottom and jujube patterns, a lot of them scream diaper bag (admittedly, many of theirs don't, but none of them had this rucksack kind of look). It really reminds me of a bag I loved in college, so maybe this has a nostalgia factor me as well. If it holds up through the diaper bag years, I can see myself converting this to a casual on the go bag.

This is perfect size for me. It's dimensions are bigger than the Brighton backpack I was using based on online published measurements for both, but feels smaller in that I don't feel like I'm carrying around a giant picnic basket on my back like I did. The interior seems similar size but my perception may be different than others, ymmv. Same goes for the picklebottom boxy I was going to get before I saw thiswith its soft sides, it seems more usable for me than the rectangular interior of the boxyagain, your mileage may vary, some people might prefer that interior.

I could see this being a "dig around to find the lost item" sometimes, but so are most of the diaper bags I've looked at if you're not carefuljust because of its wide mouth and soft structure. I like having it wide open like this so I can use a diaper clutch for the essentials, then my wallet, a small laundry bag with a couple onesies in it, and a few burp cloths or swaddling blanket, and the pockets for items like bottles and such. It does have a lighter colored interior so should be able to see things in contrast, though. The included changing pad folds nicely to cit into one of the gathered pockets. Haven't used the included insulated bottle bag yet, so don't know how long its good to use yet.

Have already used this bag a couple times and liked the backpack straps more in usage than I have with some other backpack diaper bags. These don't cut into my shoulders as much as they did (what is it with diaper bag backpacks having narrow, seatbelt-like material? So uncomfortable!). These are padded faux leather. You can also strap them down and away with velcro when using the messenger bag style strap. That strap has been useful with its provided velcro stroller straps, but I use the backpack option more, so I just use my jj cole stroller straps on the hooks instead.

Will try to add more thoughts as time goes by and good/bad experiences happen

Wonderful on the outside.. good leayher, repelant, comfortable as over shoulder and backpack..

not enough space on the inside.. barely holds one change of clothing for a newborn leaving minimum room close to nonefor diapers, bottle, wioes, extra formula or toys for on the go

Actual item does not resemble the image

Nuby 2 Handle 8 Oz Cup W/flat Flip It Straw

Nuby 2 Handle 8 Oz Cup W/flat Flip It StrawMy son has CP and cannot tilt a regular sippy cup to drink from it. Therefore, we use this cup only and it is perfect for him. I can easily hand it to him, even when he's in his car seat and he holds the handles with no problem. I don't have to tilt it and hold it for him. We have even bought replacements parts for one (an older model) and made it good as new. The new cups have better straws that don't leak like the older ones did. I am happy they improved them. There is a little piece of straw extension on the inside of the cup that's removable, making it easy to lose. I wash this little piece by hand and put the rest of the cup in the dishwasher. It doesn't fit in a cup/bottle holder (the handles make it too wide) so I just put it inside the diaper bag when we're on the go. I don't know what we would do if Nuby didn't make this cup. It would definitely be harder on me.

Luvs Ultra Leakguard Stretch Diapers

Luvs With Ultra Leakguards Jumbo Pack Size Newborn Diapers 38 CountThese diapers are great, they are of the same quality as Pampers, only about $6-7 cheaper for the same amount. They have the stretchy sides that are exactly the same type as Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers. They have a babypowder scent to them, which is a little stronger than the Swaddlers, but not to where it bothers anyone. So far I've tried Target, Wal-Mart brands, Huggies, Pampers and Luvs. From my experience they ALL leak, no matter what they say. Especially when my breastfed baby has an explosive poop while not laying on his back -this makes the liquid come out from the back of the diaper. But these don't leak as much as Huggies and generic brands. They are also not as rough as Huggies. Like I said, I would compare these to Pampers, I really think they stole their design ;)

These diapers WERE great. We had our new born last May, and have used LUVS since birth after trying Pampers and Huggies. On our little one, Huggies leaked all over the place every time, Pampers were OK but not better at a more expensive price. We've been ordering LUVS from Amazon from size 1. Somewhere in the middle of size 3 boxes (a couple of months back), the LUVS diapers that we've received suddenly changed in quality. The cross-hatch is gone (it's all white now), the diapers are thinner, and the elastic on the sides are awful now, they lose their elasticity very easily, and of course that means leaky diapers. We thought that might have been a one-time thing, but the next size 4 box that we ordered are the same 'new' no-good quality. Up above in the images, I see that someone else had the same experience. You can see from the pictures there that the diapers are different now.

What happened to the great LUVS diapers???

Buy Luvs Ultra Leakguard Stretch Diapers Now

I thought I should just share with y'all that Luvs is manufactured by the same peeps that make Pampers Diapers. They consider them their "discount brand", lots of big name brands do that to keep the most amount of customers (in this case upper and middle class families) in their corner.

About LUVS diapers I can say nothing too bad my daughter is 2 years now and VERY active and also drinks A LOT so we have quite a few leaky diapers throughout the day but I have to say I tried regular Pampers Cruisers, Huggies, Walmart Brand she always has leaks, it just comes with the degree of activity and the amount of water she drinks all day. At night time I switched from Pampers Cruisers to Huggies Night Time Diapers; works really well for me, havent had any leaks in the middle of the night anymore. But during the day I stick to my LUVS, they are fairly cheap (only a couple of dollars difference from Pampers, but HEY) and do the job. I would like to comment on a couple of things some people here said (negative) about LUVS:

If the diaper is leaking, it COULD be the diaper, but most likely it's your little one; once they are more active, they wiggle and bend differently and what worked fine before, just doesnt work now any longer. Also, when they get in between sizes the diaper just doesnt do the job anymore, you need a bigger size. And maybe they just had a cup of water too many and you didnt realize it fast enough and there you have the leak.

If your kiddo has diaper rash, it could be the diaper, but most likely your child is already on the sensitive side like mine so what I did was I used a blow dryer every time I changed her diaper after I cleaned her up with wipes really good, and when her bottom was dry I used good ol' Vaseline (for babies) to keep the urin from entering the skin BTW Vaseline is what Pampers use inside of their Swaddlers and Cruisers, so there you have the secret ingredient to prevent rash in expensive diapers! Works really great! I only used Boudreauxs Butt Paste when she had a bad rash, to make it go away, other than that I ALWAYS used Vaseline, every single time I changed her.

If your little stretchy tab tears you really just got one out of the whole package that was faulty or you used to much force, it happened to me too, with Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers also, but actually the worst was Huggies they almost ALWAYS tore. I must be doing something wrong my LUVS hold up for the most part.

Last I would like to say that I never let my Toddler run around the house in just diapers on she knows how to take them off and if she is playing bouncy on her ride-on car sometimes the already full diaper explodes and the gelly stuff comes out. Stretchy pants or shorts really help with that.

With Huggies I've made only bad experiences when she was a baby it seems like Huggies are perfect for boys, maybe it has something to do with the anatomy and how the pee comes out, but they NEVER worked for my daughter. I am really surprised that the over night diapers from Huggies are so great, just during the day they also leak I really think it's a gender thing. Correct me if Im wrong.

Over all, really love LUVS, I prefer Pampers, just not the price, so I save a couple of bucks each month by buying LUVS. Im pregnant with baby no 2 right now and for newborns to about 9 months I am going to use Pampers Swaddler and Cruisers ONLY but thats ONLY because I breastfeed and Pampers absorb runny messes like no other diaper but only Swaddlers and Cruisers they have a net-like texture that absorbs the runny poop and keeps it in there better than any diaper I know.

For the everyday (during the day) wear with mostly pee to take care of, I absolutely recommend LUVS.

The new luvs (white) leak up the front and the diaper filling comes out and all over baby, clothes, floor...

I change little man often because he is so active, climbing, trying to run, general "toddling" and this still happens more often than not. That diaper filling is awful to try to clean out off the floors. I do not recommend this product.

These diapers are great. We have used almost all types of diapers and these are my favorite. My son is 17 months old and is always on the go. I have found that these stay in place and do not sag like Huggies. No matter how tight I would put his huggies on, they would gradually fall down and sag.

I would say these are more comparable to Pampers but they are cheaper. Pampers have always stayed in place with my son. Also, I cant say that I really have leaks with Pampers but I have with Huggies. I have never had a leak with these diapers. Who would have thought, cheaper price and better than the higher priced ones.

I highly recommend them

Natural Touch Silicone Bottle

Natural Touch Silicone Bottle Slow Flow, 5 OunceWe tried this for our newborn, and compared against many other bottles, Born Free, Avent, Medela, etc.

This one is not bad, baby kind of likes it. My only complaints are:

The flow rate even on the newborn is not that slow (or maybe our baby is an incredible sucker)

The plastic on this thing seems to have incredible high heat capacity and poor thermal conductivity, so it takes much longer to warm up in this bottle than even glass.

The volume markings on the side of this bottle are part of the molding and very small. Other than ideal conditions, it is near impossible to read. (i.e. in the middle of the night, with milk in it, or with condensation or , etc.)

My 3 month old grasped to the bottle immediately after only exclusive bf as my husband and I planned a last minute Vegas trip! So happy with it. Worth every penny! Just make sure you put it together correctly as to not lose any of that Liquid Gold!

I was excited about this bottle because it was supposed to mimic breastfeeding. Well, my son loves breastfeeding but HATES this bottle. He is a vigorous sucker, and this is supposed to be a slow-flow nipple. But he was choking and gagging in a matter of seconds. The milk literally pours out. We've had the best luck with plain ol' Playtex Ventaire bottles from Target.

the flow on these is insanely too fast. my newborn gobbles down 2 oz in about 30 seconds, other bottles like breastflow at least mimic the WORK it takes to breastfeed the pace more....this nipple may be well shaped but otherwise just pours milk down baby's throat like a pitcher...i have to run interference and tip accordingly....do not buy....also review is choppy bec two finger typing as i breastfeed baby now

Huggies Little Snugglers Diapers, Newborn (Up to 10 lbs.), 108 ct

Huggies Little Snugglers Diapers, Newborn, 108 ctNot sure what else to say they're diapers and with twins, we change about 16+/day

Had a few blowouts but its happened with all brands. One nice thing is the cut out for the belly button and they're nice and soft!

great product, love it! I'm so happy with this product cause now I finally have enough diapers for my son after he is born that will last two months worth or more. This is the first time I was able to find a newborn dipaer count with 108 diapers in it. Every where else only sales a 72 count for $20. So this saved me a lot on money

These are my favorite diapers because they are soft and very absorbent. They are made well and designed for those first two weeks when the umbilical cord is healing. These diapers also have a wetness indicator, which is perfect for new parents. I would definitely recommend these diapers to everyone! I will never go back to any other brand!

Baby Bottle Holder- The Baba Buddy - Animal/camo Prints

Baby Bottle Holder- The Baba BuddyThis product helped us so much. We used it in the car seat, bouncy, stroller and around the house! My twins never got ear infections so I used it laying down sometimes. I couldn't always hold them when they needed fed, so this was a life saver. You know how babies are, when they want to eat there is no holding them back! I buy them now for everyone I know having babies! Thanks again!

Blue Q - Flora Handy Tote

Blue Q - Flora Handy ToteI love these Blue Q tote bags, I use mine to carry my lunch to work. The bag is made from post consumer products so it's something you can feel good about buying! It's not terribly large so you can't carry more than a sandwich and a few Ziploc bags of snacks, but it is perfect for a small lunch. I've had mine for about a year and I just bought another one so I could alternate between bags. Another nice thing about this bag is that it folds up nicely so I can put it in my purse on my way home. I highly recommend this product. It is NOT insulated though, so if you have a lunch that will expire, you might need to put a cold pack in as well.

Fisher-Price Luv U Zoo Deluxe Musical Mobile Gym

Fisher-Price Luv U Zoo Deluxe Musical Mobile GymMy son at 3-5 months really liked this mat, but I found more things I dislike about it than like about it.

The reasons that I give this gym a 1...

Pros:

Lots of places to hang toys

Very easy to take apart to wash the mat

Cons:

The hippo hangs very low and is very heavy (I compensate by putting it so it hangs by his feet and he kicks at it; it scared him when it was by his head)

The three monkeys are useless except for maybe as teethers (you can't securely attach them to the gym without falling... scary if they fall on his head!) and they are also extremely heavy

The stuffed elephant is really cute, but is very soft, so not helpful for tummy time (as it is touted)

It takes up ALOT of room and doesn't pack up nicely (has to be disassembled to put away so we just leave it out pretty much all the time

I really hate that it has only 3 supports, instead of 4. Since it is circular, the edges roll up and the top layer of fabric gets all bunched up this would be fixed if it had 4 supports...

ALSO, because it only has 3 supports, once he figured out (at about 6 months old)that he could kick the support beams, he was able to knock it over ONTO HIMSELF!! He looked like a baby burrito, and I was worried that he could have suffocated in it, if I hadn't been there to see him do it!!

Hope this helps you decide to buy or not. I say don't waste your money on it, and get a play mat with 4 support beams!!

Bought this for my grandson right after he was born, he stays with me all day while his mother is at work. He has loved it right from the start, he is now 7 weeks old and when I lay him on the mat turn on the music and lights he starts kicking, smiling, and cooing. He started out with being happy on it for 10 minutes but now lays on it happy for 20 minutes or more.

I got this toy for my twins and they both absolutely love it. They love looking at the toys, various colors and the lights. Couple of complaints is that the battery dies very quickly and you can use the mobile/light option at the same time.

I'm one of those parents who don't want my child bombarded with too many synthetic and obnoxious toys. This one however is so great. I always set the music to the lowest volume (there's two levels) and would set the center part to rotate instead of lights flashing to enhance my baby's motor skills of trying to reach out for objects. These days, passive learning is changing the way our kids' brains develop that as a parent you have to conscious as to how your child will interact or if they'll interact with a toy instead of just laying there hypnotized by its sounds, lights, and visuals. The rattle/hanging pieces are fun and encouraging for my baby to reach out and the elephant cushion is so useful for tummy time or for her to just reach out and grab its ears. The mirror was especially fun. I'd put her on her tummy and hang the mirror in front of her and look at her through it and make funny faces at her from behind her. She got such a kick out of it. And yes, from time to time when I needed downtime especially at the beginning of my baby's life I'd let her lay under there for 10 minutes and just sit next to her and send a few text messages to friends or comments on Facebook. This is a must have because it's simple, effective, engaging, and interactive.

This is one of the first activity stations that my baby started on and he still loves it at almost 6 months. He can spend longer at this Mobile Gym than any of his other activity centers. The mat washes very well.

Huggies GoodNites Underwear, Girls

GoodNites Underwear, Girls, Small/Medium, 27 CountI have a 10 yr old who occasionally wets the bed at night & the regular pull up's dont hold the amount of urine these can. We have had only 2 leaks in a years time with using these. No rashes like other brands. They absorb well, & the odor is controlled. I only buy these goodnites & Underjams because THEY WORK

my teenage daughter is physically disabled and occasionally needs to wear these. She can do them herself.

Buy Huggies GoodNites Underwear, Girls Now

My daughter is only 2 & 1/2 years old, but we were unhappy with other versions of overnight training pants, diapers and the like.

We tried Pampers underjams, which appear to be more cost effective, but for our little one didn't work out, she was still leaking.

We tried Pull-ups, but they leaked as well, Huggies overnights leaky, Luvs diapers, leaky.. and yes, we cut back on her liquid but that wasn't effective at all.

Huggies Goodnights with enough liquid will leak, they are made for older "bed wetting children" however it outdoes the rest for our child by a mile. While our daughter is only 2 and a half, she is able to fit in the small size fairly well, well enough that they slip on and off very easily and though there might be a gape because she is smaller than they intended I guess, it's in the back not in the stride where it would cause inevitable leaking.

Keep in mind that every child is different in shape and size, and their bed-wetting issues will vary, mine is still a toddler and expected to wet the bed at her age, and you might find a different result with every diaper or training pant you try, we did however try many and had poor results, Huggies Goodnights give her a fighting chance at staying dry overnight.

Hope that helps you with your purchasing decision.

Thanks for reading!

My daughter being a special needs child is incontinent. She was growing out of the size 6 nighttime diapers and we needed something bigger in size. After combing the internet and reading all the reviews about these diapers we thought we would give them a try (as they received great reviewed by parents of special needs and those without special needs. The first night was a success! Seeing she is totally dependent on diapers it was a very full diaper the next morning however her pajamas were dry and nothing leaked out. We were really impressed.

I would recommend this product for children still learning to potty train or for special needs children who aren't toilet trained. They work very well and we were impressed. Even though we receive assistance from insurance for diapers we will continue to purchase and use these as they are much better than the diapers we receive. These will certainly keep her dry and comfortable at night.

The designs are great for older children and these "underpants" can be hidden behind pajamas. We tried the boy's Goodnites and learned that the girl's version holds more liquid. I'm a fan!

Pampers Sensitive Wipes

Pampers Sensitive WipesThese are great baby wipes. Our newborn has never had a negative reaction to these wipes, and they are wet enough to get the job done on even the dirtiest diapers. This package contains 4 packs, each of which contains 192 wipes. The 192-wipe packs are further broken down into three individually-wrapped packs of 64 wipes, which fit perfectly into standard-sized plastic wipe containers, including the containers on most wipe warmers. So, you are really getting 12 individually wrapped packs of 64 wipes.

I don't have anything to add about the quality of this product. They are good. I just wanted to update folks with the fact that I just received a shipment of these and the flap that allows you to open and reseal the package is there. I still have packages of the old ones (we still had a whole box of the ones we ordered over a year ago when my toddler needed them, and we opened it with the arrival of our twins) and the only difference between the old packaging and new packaging is that the old packaging has an arrow and "open here" right by the resealable flap. Now there is no printing indicating the existence of the flap, but it is there.

These wipes are great. They are very soft and don't irritate my daughter's skin, who is prone to eczema.

They also work in the wipe warmers (when you pull one out, it pulls another one up through the slot like a tissue. The Huggies wipes I tried did not do that, and you had to fish around for a new wipe each time.)

Each package is wrapped in plastic with a resealable strip that holds up to repeated use. The generic wraps I've tried often are packaged in thinner plastic that rips when you try to pull open the adhesive cover, or the adhesive loses its stickiness before the last wipe is used.

I keep a package in every room my baby plays in. If I had one complaint it is that 192 wipes is really overkill for the diaper bag, so I put some in a separate container or plastic bag, but that's the same with all brands I've tried (and it's the perfect amount of wipes for the wipe warmer, which I recommend for anyone who needs to change a diaper in the middle of the night, or whose baby doesn't like to get changed).

These are my favorite wipes for a newborn. They are very moist and very soft thin wipe. Which is what I need for my babies. All they need in the first month is a light swipe of an ultra soft wipe. I had tried using some of the wipes I had for my toddler on my newborn and that was a bad idea. The thicker more textured wipes are too harsh on newborn skin. The thicker wipes do a good job on bigger baby messy diapers but they are not good for newborns. The thicker wipes drag on newborn skin too much. These Pampers Sensitive wipes are really nice because they are strong but thin and soft. You can wrap it around your fingers and very lightly clean your newborn.

That said, now that my baby is 3 months, I changed to the huggies wipes. The Pampers tend to roll up on itself when you try to do a wide handed wipe of a baby's bottom. And since its a tiny bit harder to get a wipe out than with the huggies, it starts to become a problem because older babies start kicking and moving a whole lot more.

Want Pampers Sensitive Wipes Discount?

We have really enjoyed using these wipes for our daughter. We carry a large package with us when we travel, and the wipes stay moist for weeks after being opened, as long as you reclose them with the adhesive strip. But there is the problem....

Just received a box of these wipes, and Pampers has decided to remove the reclosing feature, meaning that once open, you have to put them into a container. Feh this is messy, and the wipes are now more exposed to air and will probably dry out. So now we cut open a slot and fashion a closure strap from a piece of packing tape (when we just want the package of wipes without the container.) Pampers: By cutting costs, you may have lost a customer we'll look at other, more convenient brands now.

Pampers Silicone Airwave Aspirational Nipples, Y Cut, Twin Pack, Clear

Pampers Silicone Airwave Aspirational Nipples, Y Cut, Twin Pack, ClearMy Grandson has reflux and his pediatrician prescribed 2 tablespoons of cereal per ounce of formula. It has been a challenge to find nipples for him to take this recommended formula we have tried Dr. Browns but they are kind of flimsy and eventually tear after about a month of use. I thought these would be the answer but the baby has a hard time sucking them. I will give it more time and update this review if things change and he "learns" to work with these new nipples they will certainly hold up longer than the Dr. Browns.

Delta Children's Products Portable Mini Crib

Delta Portable Mini Crib, CherryThis crib was a lifesaver for us! We live in a small condo and didn't have room for a full-size crib. This was the PERFECT solution. Because it's made of wood, it looks much classier than the other alternatives we considered (which were made of white plastic tubing or were pack-and-plays). It also conforms to all the safety standards for portable cribs.

It was simple to assemble, folds very flat, and can easily roll through doorways. The platform is easy to switch from the upper to the lower position (but this design makes it impossible to put a skirt on the crib unless you are able to sew your own with openings for the levers and the parts of the platform that protrude through the slats). Only one side goes up and down, and it does take two hands to do that... but at 5 feet 5 inches tall I can easily reach in and out without having to raise or lower the side.

It differs from a standard size crib mainly in that it is not as long, so I don't anticipate that our daughter will be able to climb out of it any earlier than she would a standard size crib. We also put my friends' two year old (who is at the 90th percentile for height) into this crib once, and he fit in it just fine.

Like other reviewers, we did buy a two inch portable crib mattress (38 x 24 inches) to replace the thinner mattress that came with the crib. We love the crib so much, however, that this extra expense was no big deal. Of note, two inches is the thickest mattress that is considered safe for this crib.

I don't think this crib would be practical for families looking for something to take in the car on trips, but it's great for those without room for the full-size version or who want something that can be set up and then stored away again quickly (i.e. at Grandma's house).

ADDENDUM 11/2008

At 18 months, our daughter is now 32 inches tall and weighs 27 lbs. She still sleeps just fine in this crib and hasn't climbed out once. Though it's starting to look a little cramped in there for her, she doesn't seem to mind a bit. We were able to hand a Fischer-Price aquarium on one of the short sides for her. We've also taken it to the babysitter's house in the back of our Subaru Outback. We've learned that you have to be careful with the little plastic hook in front because it can scratch the finish if you don't hold it away from the slat as you move it. Overall, we are still thrilled with this purchase and are hoping that it will last us until our daughter is ready for a regular bed.

ADDENDUM 1/2010

At 24 months, our daughter was 35 inches tall and weighed 30 lbs. She was starting to look a little cramped in this crib and graduated to a Delta big-girl toddler bed. Baby brother has taken over this crib, and we still love it. Apart from a few scratches, it has held up well.

ADDENDUM 12/2012

I am now using this same crib with my third child, even though we have since moved to a great big house where I would easily have room for a full sized crib. I love this little crib! My second child has always been >97th percentile in height and weight and he slept just fine in this crib up until about 20 months. Never climbed out once. At 20 months he moved to the toddler bed. One comment has asked why we didn't get a full sized crib if we had room for a toddler bed. The answer to that is that we got the toddler bed when we needed the crib for a new baby, and we definitely would not have had room for two full-sized cribs or a full-sized crib and a toddler bed. The flexibility this smaller crib affords is unbeatable in that it's easy to move from beside my bed, to the master closet, to a separate bedroom just by rolling it through the doorways. My mom even made a custom crib skirt that fits on the platform and looks darling.

First, the CONS:

This crib can be folded into a more compact, stow-away mode so you can store it in a closet or move it from home to home. I do not recommend doing this. The quality of this crib is not that great, and I believe that after about 6 months, the crib would be junk. I just leave it as it is in its normal operating mode and roll it from room to room, as I do not plan on storing it in a closet or moving it from house to house. So, if you plan on folding it up every day or plan on moving it often, I am afraid it will not last more than 6 months. Its just not that good of a crib.

Next, it is made out of particle board, not real wood. The finish looks good, but it can be easily worn off. Again, because of this, I do not recommend folding it into its compact mode. The finish will simply not last long.

Basically, when you put it together and put it in its normal operating mode, leave like that. At least you can roll it around easily.

Some have complained about the mattress pad being to thin for the baby's comfort. I thought that at first, but after my baby was on it a few nights, my fears have diminished greatly.

The PROS:

The price, for what you get, is excellent.

If you are looking for an AFFORDABLE secondary crib you can move around from room to room, this is the crib for you.

If you live in a small apartment, are limited on space (and budget) or simply want a smaller crib, this is the crib for you.

If you are looking for a "temporary" crib and are planning to upgrade later, this is the crib for you.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A HIGH QUALITY CRIB, THIS IS NOT---REPEAT NOT--THE CRIB FOR YOU. (If you want a real wood crib you can move, buy a $600-$1000 hand crafted crib.)

///////The front gate moves up and down well. It has one full up position and one full down position. (I don't think it has a middle position.) This is the best feature of the crib, for many reasons./////////// The next best feature is that it can be rolled through tight doorways, from room to room, again an excellent feature for many reasons.

I have the cherry wood finish, and I like the look, it looks very good.

Conclusion:

After two weeks with the crib, this is what I think.

I really like it. The overall quality of this crib is pretty good for the price. The overall functionality is only fair (read my CONS section). I think you could resell these at a garage sale if you kept them looking good, or at least give them to Habitat for Humanity or some other organization that helps the less fortunate if you want to get rid of it.

The crib's platform where the baby is placed has two levels, down low and up high. I have mine in the up high position and I have never changed it. I have a newborn.

It rolls easily on carpet.

I move it from room to room often. This is very helpful for many many reasons. I move the gate up and down often, this is very helpful when you sleep in bed with this crib next to you with the gate down. The gate is mostly in the down position, as I have a small newborn.

Final thoughts: An excellent secondary crib that rolls and has a sliding gate perfect for newborns or couples with limited space that are on a budget.

THE DROP-SIDE FEATURE HAS BEEN BANNED BY THE U.S. GOV. BECAUSE IT HAS CAUSED INFANT DEATHS.

Shortly after the birth of our second son, our cheap bassinet was recalled. At the same time, our son was ready to progress to a crib, but wasn't quite ready to share a room with his older brother. We wanted to continue to keep our baby in our room until he could sleep through the night, but needed an item with a small foot print.

This crib is compact, assembles, collapses and sets up easily (I, a 5'3" woman assembled it and then carried it up three floors by myself).

The crib bottom can be set at two heights, has a drop-side, collapses in half, and holds up to 45lbs. One thing to note, the crib does not have locking wheels and our 23 month old can easily pull his 7 month old brother around the room with ease. We're presently working on solution to this issue. Most likely we will remove wheels & cover leg ends with felt.

The crib is classical in styling and is sturdily built. We love this crib and kick ourselves for not registering for this instead of the bassinet.

Oh forgot to mention that when the crib is in its highest setting (bassinet), with the drop-side down, the crib can also be used as a changing table.

We are grandparents who were looking for a crib or packnplay for a growing 4 month old. We have an older packnplay but we did not want to break our back lifting the baby out of it. Newer packnplays have two positions, on the ground level, and a second higher level, but it is rated for only 15 pounds and seems to be problematic. Our 4 month has already reached 15 pounds. We were looking for portability and something that could be used for guests and baby sitting a few days a week.

The design of this crib is very good. This crib is "smaller" than a regular crib, but is adequate for a baby 1 to 2 yrs old. Dimensions about 25 x 39 in.

It took about 15 min of time putting it together with 8 screws and 8 nuts. The flooring has 2 nuts used to attach the floor to the sides of the crib. The relatively narrow width of the crib makes it easy moving it through any doorway either fully opened or in a folded position.

The crib can be broken down or folded up within 15 seconds to a thin 5 inches width. This can easily be placed under a bed. The feature of the floor makes it easy to move and position it about 9 inches higher, so it won't kill your back pulling out an infant. The floor position can be changed in a matter of only a few seconds. As the baby begins to stand, the flooring can be moved to the lower position.

The sides of the crib seem to be made out of pressed wood. It may be a durablity problem with heavy use. The flooring is plywood: very strong and not a problem.

Over all this is a well designed crib that is easy to put together and has nice features of quickly modifying the floor position and breaking it down and moving or storing. I did not give it a 5 star since the sides are made out of this pressed "wood" and it may not hold up long time. However time will tell.

I have been using Delta portable cribs, in my in-home daycare for the past 22 years. The first group I bought lasted 10 years, and the only reason I replaced them, was because I had grown tired of the dark wood, and just wanted a change. I then sold the older cribs at a garage sale. They were still very sturdy and safe, and everyone that bought one was very happy with their purchase. I then bought white Delta cribs and am getting ready to replace them, only because of the new safety regulations. I have children as young as 3 months to age 2 1/2 that sleep in them every day, and they have held up extremely well. No problems at all. I check them every now and then, and tighten the hardware, and that's it! My son was also in one until he was 2, and was transitioned to a twin bed. I have been more than pleased, and would highly recommend one if space or money is an issue.
