Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail Refill Bags

Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail Refill Bags, 30 CountI've been using the Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Bag Refill Bags since my little girl was born. The diaper pail itself is shorter than the Diaper Genie, but it has a compartment at the top that holds Baking Soda that you can add, which is really helpful to absorb nasty odors of the diaper pail.

The Bags are incredible durable and are made to snap closed when you are taking it out. A couple things to consider before buying it: 1) You have to fold and "snap" the bag together, then pull it through the open compartment door on the side. It can be difficult, even annoying. But once you get past the squeezing it through the door that opens on the side, it's simple to carry to the trash. It never breaks. 2) It doesn't hold as many diapers as it should be able to. It's because of the weight of the diapers. It turns as you close the lid, sealing in odor. If it's weighed down by too many diapers, it won't rotate or close. Problem is, the diaper bag can hold at least 4-5 more diapers, depending on the size you use. So, I have a small wooden block that elevates the bag inside the pail, enabling me to add more diapers and not waste bags. Any way to save money right? Truly, though, the pail itself doesn't hold as many diapers as it could unless you improvise. If this doesn't concern you, then it's really just a great product. I just like to save as much money as possible and not waste the room that could be used to hold even more diapers.

Aside from those minor issues.....

I share a room with my now 15 month old and I can tell you that after changing some really poopy messes, this thing has never one time stunk me outta the room. I recommend it to anyone. !!!

While I am not a dad, my family has essentially set up a second home for my niece. She has two of everything. One at my sister's house picked out by mom and dad, and one at my house picked out by uncle and grandma. I did a lot of research before deciding on a system for diapers. I COULD just throw them away, but for the sake of cleanliness, I decided to pick up the Munchkin diaper system. It was cheaper than it's major competitor and seemed easier to use. I like these bags because they fit lots of dirty diapers and when it's done, you snap the top closed and everything stays securely in the bag. Put it out with the rest of your trash and call it a day. Now the bags themselves don't have baking soda I believe, but the pail sprinkles some over everything every time the pail is closed. I searched for these backs at several locations to see where I could get the best price and as usual Amazon did not disappoint.

This is a ripoff. We just cut one of the rings off the top of its bag, and put a regular garbage bag in the pail, wrapped around the ring, and now save ourselves the 60 cents per bag. It really adds up!

We received the Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail, White as a Vine product to test--and really liked it. These are the bags that fit that diaper pail, and I do like how they work...so much so that we've bought about 20 refill boxes since we got the first batch (included in the diaper pail box). This says something because I was one of those moms that said they'd never spend money on "special" diaper pail bags.

They are really easy to use--just take one out of the box and leaving the plastic ring folded in half (to fit through the opening), insert it through the top (or up from the bottom), unfold the plastic ring and tuck the four tabs into the four slots to keep it in position. That's it. And honestly, it sounds a bit more difficult than it really is.

The only somewhat misleading this is that the box has in REALLY BIG PRINT that the 10 bags hold up to 250 diapers (25 diapers per bag) which sounds really good. And then in much smaller print (that you can't see on the given photo) it says that total is based on Size 1 infant diapers. (This information IS included in Amazon's product description, but sometimes people don't read all of it so I'm pointing it out in the review.) I haven't counted the Size 4 or Size 5 diapers that we can fit in there, but I'd guess it's around 3-4 days' worth (15-18)...still worth it to me.

I would highly recommend both the pail and the bags to anyone. We liked it so much we actually bought a second unit for the second floor nursery!
